Notes on Accommodation and other Useful Information

Killarney Sept 2nd to Sept 5th (night of)
The HostelMuckross adventure centre
The Irish Char Conservation Group has booked a hostel near Killarney National Park for thoser who wish to rough it withn the Irish lads. The hostel is a converted old church run by the local community. It is self catering, basic but clean. No bedding clothes are provided so you will have to bring your own sleeping bag etc .

Remember September is usually warm in Ireland. The Irish Char Conservation Group will cover the cost of staying in the hostel.

The Muckross Park Hotel
Some ISACF members have requested more upmarket accommodation. For those who do not wish to stay in the hostel we are recommending the hotel which is conveniently sited adjacent to the hostel. The well known pub, Molly Darcy's is aslo part of the establishment.

Inside the HostelRooms cost 45 euro per person sharing (i.e., double), or 75 euro for single room. The hotel web site address for the hotel is www.muckrosspark.com

Galway city Sept 6th

ISACF will stay in a number of B&B's in Galway city. People sharing a room will cost around 30 euro. Singles will cost extra.

Cornamona Sept 7th and 8th

ISACF will stay in a number of B&B's in Cornamona. People sharing a room will cost around 30 euro. Singles will cost extra.


The Irish Char Conservation Group regrets that it is not in a position to be able to cover the cost of B&B expenses.

Travel

Rail, bus and other useful timetables available from here. Dublin Bus offers many routes throughout Dublin, including an AirLink express bus to Heuston and Connolly Rail Stations. For the latest route details and timetable information click the following www.dublinbus.ie.

You can get from Shannon Airport to virtually any point throughout Ireland with Bus Eireann. Regular services are available via our Terminal Building to ENNIS or LIMERICK. Onward connections are available to KERRY, Or see Bus Eireann Travel Centre.

Other bits and bobs

A limited amount of fishing tackle might be available, however bring your own to avoid disappointment. If you wish to go fishing, we advise you to bring your own gear.
